Watu Sacks is nirvana. Charm of the extraordinary beautiful beaches with coral islands,
turquoise sea water, clean beaches with soft white sand, and two surf
spots that offers barrel and world-class waves.
The journey to Watu Karung (WK) is not easy. Hidden
at one point along the south coast of Pacitan (East Java, Indonesia),
Watu sacks can be reached by motorcycle or car rental through the
winding roads up and down the hills. One hour trip was no stopping, making YogYES wonder how much longer we will get there. Even on arrival at a village called Watu Sacks, still no sign of the beach. And suddenly there appeared a port with dozens of small boats in front of us. The place is also home to the fishermen about fish auction. But the journey is not over because the surf spots are in a different place.
Passing
through a narrow street with houses on either side, our motorcycle suddenly stopped because the soil suddenly changed with sand. Ahead of a beautiful beach with turquoise waves stretches. White sand was very soft. Adorn coral islands offshore. The sunlight that shines bright and blue sky makes it all the more perfect. Watu Sacks is nirvana.
Behind the beauty, Watu Karung proved to have incredible waves. With
this type of reef break and seabed in the form of rock, at certain
moments Karung Watu can produce barrels that will make the surfer was in
heaven. Good surfer with style and natural goofy can surf here because Watu Sacks has left and right waves. This place is also not too crowded, so surfers could surf freely pursue. Offshore
wind typically comes in from April to October, making these months are
the best moments to mingle with the barrel Watu sacks. In
2009, Indonesia's top surfers Rizal Tanjung invites Bruce Irons, winner
of the Rip Curl Pro Search in 2008 to try and prove that the waves Watu
Sacks is a world-class waves.
